About
Villeine is an NYC-made and based clothing and accessories brand, produced in small batches or cut-to-order. Villeine's aspiration is to bring you pieces that will one day turn into beloved hand-me-downs. All garments are made locally in New York's historic garment district using American-milled textiles, or upcycled vintage and deadstock fabric. Villeine aims to make clothing that will stay with you for life; repair and renew, patch and mend, pass on and love throughout your rough and tumble life.
Founder Hannah Mosman hails from Portland, OR and was inspired by her family's roots in farming and logging, particularly her grandfather's perpetual wearing of overalls. Hannah has a background in apparel design for heritage brands Pendleton and Woolrich. Her work experience and predisposition toward a strapped garment anchored Hannah's love for workwear, with the ambition to keep American clothing made in America.
The lawlessness of the American west paralleled with medieval England's feudal system, wherein the farmer (or "villein") was first defined, guide Villeine's design ethos in creating modern, quality clothing for people with an appreciation for past craftsmanship.
